How Do We Get the UAW in Our Workplace?

The first step to organizing the UAW Union in your workplace is for you and your coworkers to become familiar with the benefits and advantages of UAW membership. When a strong majority of workers decide they want UAW representation, the workers sign authorization cards or petitions stating their support for the UAW Union. Most often management will respond to your organizing effort with an active campaign against the union using handouts, one-on-one meetings with the supervisor and group meetings. Management will ask for forgiveness, make promises, spread rumors, and try to divide the workforce – all in an attempt to stop a majority from signing up. Don’t be fooled! The boss can and will lie about the UAW but remember, your right to organize and join a union has long been a fundamental American right, guaranteed by both federal and state law.
If you are working without union representation, this is your opportunity to click here to Organize Now.
If you are currently an Active or Retired member of the UAW Union then click here to use the Organizing Referral Form to help us reach out to a family member, neighbor, or friend who is currently working in a non-union workplace and is interested in winning the benefits of UAW membership.
