Gary Jones,  Assistant Director

Gary Jones was appointed Assistant Regional Director of Region 5 in January 2004 by Regional Director Jim Wells.

Region 5 is comprised of 17 Western states including Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.

Gary was appointed to the position of International Representative assigned to the Accounting Department  by former UAW President Owen Beiber and former Secretary-Treasurer Bill Casstevens in 1990. In 1991 Gary was appointed as the Chief Accountant of the UAW.

In 1995 Gary was appointed to the position of  Top Administrative Assistant to former Secretary-Treasurer Roy Wyse. Gary continued to serve as Top Administrative Assistant to Secretary-Treasurers Ruben Burks and Elizabeth Bunn until his appointment to Assistant Regional Director in January 2004.

Gary has been a UAW member of Local 1895 since 1975 when he was hired at the Ford Glass plant in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Gary is a lifetime member of the NAACP and various other civic and political organizations.

Born December 23, 1956, Gary and his wife Cindy live in O'Fallon, Missouri where they are members of the First Baptist Church. They have two daughters and one granddaughter.
